A BIG Thanks!!!

I was recently put into someone's treasury that they made of Oklahoma artists and since then I have sold the earrings that I had not been able to sell! I received so many compliments when I would wear my pair of the same earrings, but I guess they just needed to be on a treasury so people could see them :)

So as a thanks, I wanted to make
a shout out for http://www.etsy.com/shop/marcykk where she has the CUTEST little headbands for little girls and other cute "frilly" things, so if you have a little girl or are looking for a great shower gift then check out her shop!

Thanks again Marcykk!

I have finally finished "my office" and I am pretty excited about how it turned out. Now everything is within arms reach and so I can be extra lazy while my creative juices flow. For some reason, it just makes creating jewelry more fun when it is all organized. Now to just organize the rest of my life....eventually.

Spark of Creativity

I haven't posted anything for a while, or really even worked on my site for a while. I lost my spark of creativity when a mean person harassed me on Etsy. However, the good part of this story is that I got it back!! I recently went strolling with a friend and we stopped by some cute boutiques. Walking through them renewed my creativity and I couldnt wait to get home and start on a new project! The result? Five new neckaces! I just added them onto Etsy, including some Sooner necklaces for those fancy fanatics!

The other fun thing is that one of the boutiques is named Rhinestones and Rubies, and my name is Ruby! That is not the exciting part though. I dropped off my business card with the hopes that I might be able to sell some of my necklaces there. I think it would be a lot of fun, and then more of those Sooner girls would be able to see the upside down longhorn necklaces.

Dont forget to check out my new etsy additions at www.hintofvintage.etsy.com!

My Favorite

I spent a lot of time thinking about how to make this necklace, which is why I think I love it so much now! I am a huge fan of timeless characters like “The White Rabbit” and felt like I wanted to do something with that since vintage items are generally timeless themselves. Of course, the most popular aspect of The White Rabbit is his pocket watch so I wanted to incorporate that into the necklace, but how since I couldn’t find a small pocket watch? Well, I thought This if I have it hanging from a separate chain it would give the appearance of a pocket watch.

Some other special parts of the necklace are the beads I chose. They are antique beads that are blue and white. If I were to think of two colors that reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, blue and white are obvious for me so I tried to bring those colors in as well. Each bead was made into a charm and split up different sections of a vintage chain to add as much character to the necklace chain as the pendant itself.

After finishing this piece it was incredibly hard to put up for sale, but as this is why I made it I have had to let go J I hope that whatever home it finds will appreciate the little details that went into this very special necklace.

Valentine's Day

Valentines!

I am working very hard on some Valentine’s Day jewelry for people to give

to their Valentines. It’s all very mushy and lovey-dovey, but

if you are searching for that perfect one-of-a-kind gift make sure to check out

my site. I will mark down those necklaces to make them more affordable, so

keep an eye out for them to be posted on Etsy in the next couple of days!

So Thankful!

I have had three sales now and I just wanted to say thank you to all the people that have bought jewelry thus far! It is very exciting for me and I am constantly checking to see if I have sold anything. My husband Matt laughed at me because I was giddy for hours after my first sale, and my excitement has not decreased with each sale, but instead has increased. Thanks again to all those who are supporting me!

My First Sale

I had my first sale today! Now granted it was my great friend who bought it, but I couldn’t be happier. It feels very good to know that a piece I spent a lot of time on will get the love and care it deserves. And as a special present to this friend who is supporting me, I have something awesome in the works.

My First Post

I am following the paths of my wise friends before me and creating a website to help promote my Etsy store. I am having so much fun making jewelry, and every piece is handmade starting with a scrap of metal or copper ring shaped to fit whatever my imagination can come up with.

I started making my jewelry after a dear friend of mine showed me how to use a soldering tool. Since then I have gone hog-wild and haven't been able to stop my creative juices from flowing. I have actually had to put a notebook by my bedside to hurry and jot down ideas, otherwise I would be kept up every night hoping I wouldn't forget it in the morning. This notebook has helped me sleep, and also helped me to remember wonderful ideas that shape into the pieces I am selling on Etsy.

I hope that the people who buy my jewelry will love it as much as I loved making it and hopefully it will become their signature piece that they wear with almost everything because that is what they have been designed to do. Each piece has a hint of vintage and a little splash of me.
